Univerzitet Donja Gorica je partner na Horizont projektu Evropske unije koji nosi naziv "STone monument Ensambles and the Climate Change Impact“ – STECCI.
STEĆCI je interdisciplinarni projekat koji objedinjuje stručna znanja i vještine iz oblasti konzervacije, očuvanja kulturne baštine, klimatologije, ali i drugih prirodnih, društvenih i humanističkih nauka, uključujući kreativne industrije. Cilj projekta STECĆI je stvaranje inovativnih i održivih strategija za zaštitu sakralnog kulturno-istorijskog nasljeđa (uključujući kamene strukture) od uticaja klimatskih promjena, prirodnih katastrofa, zagađenja životne sredine i antropogenih prijetnji, kažu sa UDG-a.
Projekat će koristiti savremenu istraživačku opremu, digitalne tehnologije, najnovije pristupe društvenim naukama i konzervatorsku praksu kako bi postigao svoje ciljeve. Projekat finansira Evropska unija kroz H02020.
Uz to, projekat STEĆCI poklanja pažnju digitalizaciji kulturnog nasljeđa. Kroz tehnološki napredan pristup, cilj mu je stvoriti digitalne zapise stećaka, doprinoseći tako dugoročnoj zaštiti i dostupnosti ovog kulturnog blaga.
Glavni naglasak projekta je iskoristiti potencijal nekropola za podsticanje društveno-ekonomske i kreativne revitalizacije lokalnih zajednica. Ovo podrazumijeva sprovođenje društvenih laboratorija (social labs), aktivno učestvovanje javnosti u prikupljanju naučnih podataka, prikupljanje narativa i legendi vezanih za stećke, te druge relevantne aktivnosti. Integracijom umjetnosti, kreativnih industrija i kulturnih vrijednosti, projekat podstiče regeneraciju, postizanje ekonomskog rasta, te osiguranje održive zaštite kulturnog nasljeđa, posebno u dinamičnom okruženju ubrzanih klimatskih promjena.
Na projektu učestvuju: Univerzitet u Sarajevu (BIH), Heritage (Malta), Univerzitet Donja Gorica Podgorica (Crna Gora), Universitaet fur angewandte Kunst Wien (Austrija), Stiftung Preussischer Kulturbesitz (Njemačka), Zentrum für soziale Innovation GmbH Wien (Austrija), Sveučilište u Splitu, Umjetnička akademija (Hrvatska), Prirodno-matematički fakultet Univerziteta u Novom Sadu (Srbija) i Institut Mines-Telecom (Francuska).

University of Donja Gorica participates in another important European Union Horizon project as a partner institution
University of Donja Gorica is a partner in the Horizon project of the European Union, which is called "STone monument Ensembles and the Climate Change Impact" - STECCI. STECCI is an interdisciplinary project that combines professional knowledge and skills in the field of conservation, preservation of cultural heritage, climatology, but also other natural, social and human sciences, including creative industries. The goal of the STECCI project is to create innovative and sustainable strategies for the protection of sacred cultural and historical heritage (including stone structures) from the effects of climate change, natural disasters, environmental pollution and anthropogenic factor. The project will use modern research equipment, digital technologies, the latest social science approaches and conservation practice to achieve its goals. The project is financed by the European Union through H02020.
We hereby invite experts and the interested citizens to take part in the project "STone monument Ensembles and the Climate Change Impact" - STECCI as interested parties (stakeholders). Application can be sent to the e-mail address [email protected].
By analyzing the perspective of stecci, a phenomenon represented on the UNESCO World Heritage List, together with analogously relevant stone monuments, the project seeks to assess their resilience in the light of two climate scenarios during three defined time periods: 2021-2040, 2041-2060 and 2081-2100. Following a systematic assessment of the condition supported by scientific analyses, conservation interventions are planned at precisely selected locations. The goal of these interventions is to develop optimal practices and guidelines for monitoring and preserving the state of the stecci. In addition to the above, economic analyzes and analyzes of climate scenarios will be carried out in order to integrate all relevant perspectives.
The STECCI project also pays attention to the digitization of cultural heritage. Through a technologically advanced approach, its goal is to create digital records of the stecci, thus contributing to the long-term protection and accessibility of this cultural treasure.
The main emphasis of the project STECCI is to use the potential of the necropolis to stimulate the socio-economic and creative revitalization of local communities. This includes the implementation of social labs, active participation of the public in the collection of scientific data, the collection of narratives and legends related to stecci, and other relevant activities. By integrating art, creative industries and cultural values, the project encourages regeneration, achieving economic growth, and ensuring sustainable protection of cultural heritage, especially in a dynamic environment of accelerated climate change.
Participants in the project are: University of Sarajevo (BiH), Heritage (Malta), University of Donja Gorica Podgorica (Montenegro), Universitaet fur angewandte Kunst Wien (Austria), Stiftung Preussischer Kulturbesitz (Germany), Zentrum für soziale Innovation GmbH Wien (Austria) , University of Split, Academy of Arts (Croatia), Faculty of Science, University of Novi Sad (Serbia) and Institut Mines-Telecom (France).
The University of Donja Gorica coordinates the WP6 dealing with economic values with the aim to assess the economic impact of climate change on the heritage of tombstones under different climate scenarios, to conduct a comprehensive and in-depth analysis of the economic benefits associated with the reduction of damage from climate change for the heritage of tombstones, to analyse of economic benefits related to the preservation of the heritage of tombstones, and future benefits from the timely treatment of the preservation of tombstones.
